CTS hosts Transportation Project Management Institute (TPMI)
Twenty-seven VDOT project managers recently completed an intensive training program conducted by the Transportation Project Management Institute (TPMI). TPMI is a 9-day intensive residential training program designed, developed, and conducted by the Center for Transportation Studies, exclusively for VDOT project managers responsible for managing the development phase of transportation projects. The program’s objective is to enhance the knowledge and skills of project managers in order to complete projects on-time and on-budget. The institute was held from May 26 to June 4, 2009 at the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration.
Virginia Secretary of Transportation, Pierce Homer, VDOT Commissioner, David Ekern and CTS Director, Lester Hoel, jointly inaugurated the commencement of the institute at a group lunch on May 26.
