CTS Faculty Receives Walter L. Huber Civil Engineering Award
Brian L. Smith accepted the 2006 Walter L. Huber Civil
Engineering Research Prize on October 21, 2006 at the
Annual Meeting of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) in Chicago. This prestigious award is presented by the Society to recognize notable achievements in research related to civil engineering. Preference is given to younger ASCE members of early accomplishments, who can be expected to continue fruitful careers in research.
Professor Smith's award citation reads, "For
accomplishments in research to improve the collection,
analysis, and management of transportation operations'
data, specifically improving the state-of-the-practice in
probe-based traffic monitoring and archived data management
systems in intelligent transportation systems."
