Professor Demetsky Receives S. S. Steinberg Award
Mike Demetsky, professor and chair of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, was honored this year with the 2008 S. S. Steinberg Award from the American Road and Transportation Builders Association. The award recognizes Demetsky's contributions to transportation education.
Professor Demetsky received the ASCE Journal of Transportation Engineering Best Paper Award, 1999, and the ASCE 1995 Frank M. Masters Transportation Engineering Award. His students have received CUTC national thesis and dissertation awards in 1994, 1995, 1998, and 2002. Professor Demetsky was named a Fellow of the Institute of Transportation Engineers.
