Biographical Information

Ramkumar (Ram) Venkatanarayana is a Transportation Systems Engineer with the Smart Travel Lab. He is a Eno Fellow and recipient of the 'Outstanding Student of the Year 2001' Award for the George Mason Consortium University Transportation Center. Mr. Venkatanarayana has earned a Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Madras , Chennai, and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from University of Virginia , Charlottesville, Virginia. He has two years experience with the operations and management of transportation using pipelines. His interests include Intelligent Transportation Systems, Performance Measurement and Statistical Modeling. He is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Virginia , researching to find typical traffic patterns from large traffic datasets in an unsupervised manner.
