Biographical Information

Simona Babiceanu received her MSCS from SUNY Albany in 1995 and her Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from "Politechnica" University in Bucharest, Romania in 1989. As of August 2005, Simona has resumed her former duties in the Smart Travel Lab where, from April 2002 until June 2004, she was a Senior Application Developer. Simona worked on the ETL (Extraction Transformation and Loading) processes for different data sources in the lab. Other personal contributions included participating in various research projects, database design, helping students with programming issues, and day-to-day lab operations. From August 2004 until June 2005, she worked as a researcher at CCIT (California Center for Innovative Transportation) in Berkeley, CA. Previously she was a Senior Programmer/Analyst with the Information, Technology and Communications (ITC) Department at the University of Virginia, primarily working on the Faculty Instructional Toolkit applications.
